Activating TruPredict

TruPredict utilizes hardware locked product key licensing to enable use of the product once installed on a computer. Once activated the software key is hardware locked to that computer system.  License Deactivation is possible to move the license to a new user/computer system.

Details of TruPredict product key licensing Activation/Deactivation is described below.

Installation - Setup Wizard

Download and run the provided TruPredict Setup Executable to install the application. The application is installed to the currently logged in user’s local app data directory. A shortcut to the TruPredict executable is added to the Windows Start Menu: Lone Star Analysis → TruPredict.

When installing via the setup wizard you will be prompted to complete license activation when TruPredict is started. See sections below on activation options.

The command line silent install allows for IT installations across multiple target PCs. Run the provided TruPredict Setup executable and license key with the following command line parameters to install and activate.

An optional log parameter is available for troubleshooting: /LOG=”C:\setupLog.log”

Please see sections below regarding virtual machine installation and activation server whitelisting considerations. Silent install applies to TruPredict versions 1.6.2.1 and later.


Activating Online

Once installed and you have obtained your assigned Product Key, follow the steps below to activate TruPredict using Online Activation. Other options exist to activate manually offline or online with custom proxy settings and will be covered in separate sections below. Online activation is the default activation option.

  1. Launch TruPredict (Start Menu → Lone Star Analysis → TruPredict).
  2. This opens the TurboActivate activation dialog. 
  3. Choose the “Activate TruPredict online now” option.

  1. Launch TruPredict (Start Menu → Lone Star Analysis → TruPredict).
  2. This opens the TurboActivate activation dialog.
  3. Choose the “Activate TruPredict online now” option.
  4. Enter your provided product key.
  5.  Once activation is successful click “Finish” and the application will load.

Deactivating TruPredict License

Deactivating the product key will unlink the product key from the installed pc and will require reactivation to start the application. This allows the key to be moved to a different user or different computer as needed.

To deactivate open the Windows Run dialog (Windows Key + R) and enter the following command including quotes:

Possible Activation Issues

Virtual Machine or Hypervisor

TruPredict licensing is configured by default to not activate on applications installed within a virtual machine or Windows Hyper-V. Install on a computer 

Network Proxy Settings

By default, TruPredict activation uses whatever proxies your users have set for their system. Where TurboActivate reads these proxy settings from Internet Explorer.

Users can overwrite system default proxy settings by passing in custom proxy settings by launching the activation wizard with command line arguments in the following supported formats:

http://username:password@host:port/

Note: If the port is not specified, TurboActivate will default to using port 1080 for proxies.

Activation Server Whitelist Information

In the case where the user’s computer network employs whitelisting the following domains can be used to whitelist access to the activation server. https://wyday.com http://wyday.com
